Creative practice and the ammonite

Living a creative life does not have to be about art or textiles or the physical making of something. My life is largely scripted with immoveable and non-negotiable components largely chosen by me. For now, my creative stuff happens in the spaces between those other activities. It can be the meditative and calming process of cutting. The ammonite inspired shape has been a feature of my printmaking for a long time. I appreciate the sense of eternity, the never ending spiral has positive, neutral and negative connotations. Sometimes it's just a lovely pattern. Sometimes, when I'm really still and in the zone, it holds the meaning of life. The progress rubbings clarify whether more should be removed. It is a slow process that relieves the intensity of life's other activities.
